Plastics

I hadn't given any thought to Vapour Blasting anything but metal until I was approached by a customer.

He had a plastic ignition cover for a Honda that had been painted a few times over the years and asked whether I could do anything to make it look better so I said that I'd "give it a go".

It came up really well! The blasting removed all the old paint and brought it back to a first class finish, especially when compared to the alternative.

A chemical paint stripper would soften the plastic, and in some cases could even cause some melting of the top surface.

Blasting off the old paint is much better than just rubbing down and trying to repaint on top of a poorly prepared surface.

To achieve the best finish, the plastic should be blasted and spray primed with a coat of transparent plastic primer.

This is now ready to spray on the top finish.

Finally, for the best look and feel, finish off with a top coat of clear lacquer.
